Dr. Monica Ramos Boyd, DDS
Dr. Ramos Boyd began practicing in 2009. She was raised in Harlingen, and was excited about returning home to practice dentistry in her community. She received her dental degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, and her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Texas at Pan American.
She treats adults and children, and performs the following procedures: cosmetic porcelain crowns and veneers, esthetic fillings, bleaching, root canals, minor oral surgery, preventive care, periodontal therapy, implant crowns, bridges, and dentures. Dr. Ramos Boyd is always taking new patients, and will be happy to sit down with you and in a gentle, caring manner, design a treatment plan to give you the smile you want and deserve. Dr. Ramos Boyd and her staff attend annual continuing education classes through the Texas Dental Association, The Seattle Study Club, Dentists Who Care, and the Dawson Academy. Dr. Ramos Boyd is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Dental Association, and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. She has also been named a Top Dentist as listed in Texas Monthly Magazine in since 2019.
Dr. Ramos Boyd is married to Cory Boyd, LPC. They have one daughter and one son. She enjoys spending time with her family, watching scary movies, and is a sustaining member of the Junior League of Harlingen.

Dr. James Burkholder has retired and is no longer taking new patients.
I transferred my dental practice to Dr. Monica Ramos Boyd and am now retired. She was my dental associate for 8 years, and has provided excellent treatment to her patients,
especially cosmetic and implant dentistry. She has completed the series of Dawson Academy Post Graduate courses. This is a similar course study to the L.D. Pankey continuums I took to learn full mouth comprehensive dentistry. I feel confident leaving you in her care upon my retirement.
I would like to thank all of my wonderful patients for trusting me to take care of you and your families over many years. I know you will enjoy Dr. Monica and our office team that has stayed with her during the transition. In my retirement, I will be traveling, painting, fishing, and playing in my band, The Retro Rockers.

Dental Hygienists
Our dental office is proud of our Dental Hygienists, Judith Cano Godinez, RDH and Ginny Fite, RDH. Both of our hygienists are trained in preventive care, placing sealants on children's and adult's permanent teeth, dental implant maintenance, and oral hygiene instruction. They specialize in preventive care, so they can help you keep your teeth for a lifetime. Judith and Ginny also have been trained in periodontal therapy, and can explain to you how periodontal disease starts, progresses, and can be healed. Judith Cano Godinez, RDH
I have been with Ramos Boyd Dentistry since April 2022. I am a Registered Dental Hygienist and Registered Dental Assistant with Nitrous Certification. I became an RDH because I want to be able to help patients feel confident and beautiful with their smiles. I am the wife and mother of 3 boys. I enjoy traveling, making beaded jewelry and my recent favorite activity is baking vegan goods.
I chose Ramos Boyd Dentistry because I wanted to be a part of an amazing team who is passionate about helping their patients by giving them a smile they feel confident with, and together I know we can make that happen.
Ginny Fite, RDH
Ginny retired in March 2024.
I have been with Dr. Ramos Boyd and Dr. Burkholder since February 2012 as a part time Registered Dental Hygienist. I have 34 years of experience in dental hygiene. I graduated from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin with a bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene, and I am Nitrous Oxide certified. I became an RDH because my dentist as a child; Dr. Pope was so kind, and I loved him. When I was in 5th grade, he suggested I become an RDH because I had “pretty teeth,” and took good care of them. During my off time, I love to cook, swim, bike and run as triathlon training, attend bible studies, spend precious time with my family, travel, read and care for our pets. My husband of over 27 years is a retired Army Officer and teaches JROTC at Weslaco East HS. We have 3 children; Sam who is married to Taylor and they blessed us with 4 beautiful granddaughters. Jenna is a student and Kevin is in the management team of Chick-Fil-A and is a team member who helps with Grand Openings. We have several cats and a dog, Tami.
I chose Ramos Boyd Dentistry because our Doctors have a unique way of relating to their patients and staff. I love the style of dentistry they practice with a high standard of excellence. I feel as though I can grow here, and I pray that I can help this practice grow and become one of the best in the valley.

Priscilla Roman, RDA
I have been with Dr. Ramos Boyd since November 2020. I am a Registered Dental Assistant and recently became a front office coordinator. I became a Dental Assistant in 2009 because I like to help patients overcome any fears or concerns when visiting a dentist office. I am the wife and proud mother to 2 sons and 1 daughter. On my off time I enjoy running, cooking, and reading to my kids. I like doing arts and crafts projects with my kids, helping others and bird watching.
I chose Ramos Boyd Dentistry because I felt I wanted to be part of a team and feel appreciated.
Dental Assistants
Helping the Doctor with your dental care are three dental assistants. They will accompany you through the treatment to make sure you are comfortable, and that your questions are answered.
Lupita Rodriguez, RDA
I have been with Dr. Ramos Boyd since January of 2019. I am a Registered Dental Assistant and I assist Dr. Ramos Boyd in patient care and treatment. I became an RDA in 1997 and chose to be a Dental Assistant because at an early age my parents would take me to see my Dentist and I saw that a Dentist could help get patients out of pain and give them great smiles as well. I am a wife and mother to 2 beautiful children. On my off time I like to travel, spend time with my kids and workout.
I chose Ramos Boyd Dentistry because of the excellent reputation for patient care and the family like bond between employees. Working at Ramos Boyd Dentistry has been a blessing and I am so grateful to be a part of the team.
Donna Olivarez, RDA, CDA
I have been with Dr. Ramos Boyd and Dr. Burkholder since September 2012. I am a Registered Dental Assistant/ Certified Dental Assistant and I assist the Doctors with treatment and patient education. I am Nitrous Oxide and X-ray certified. I became a RDA/CDA in California in 1975. I decided to become a RDA/CDA at an early age because of my great dental experiences as a child. I assisted in instructing future RDAs at TSTC from 2002-2010. I have two sons, 5 granddaughters and 1 grandson. I like to spend time with my grandchildren watching movies and supporting them in their extracurricular activities. I love to travel and explore new countries and make new friends. My favorite is Scotland and California to visit friends and family.

I have been with Dr. Ramos Boyd since September 2023. I am a Registered Dental Assistant and I assist the doctor in patient care and treatment I became a RDA in 2006 after attending TSTC. I did pediatric dentistry for 15 years where I was able to obtain most of my experience. I chose to be dental assistant to educate patients of the importance of taking care of their teeth and to ease their fear in a dental office. I am a wife and mother who was blessed with 3 daughters. I enjoy traveling, exercising, and spending time with my family.
